The primary design requirement and motto for this website was "...a picture is worth a thousand words". With that in mind, we elected to use photo images in place of words or menu buttons for the site's navigation. The focus for this project was to showcase PCI's work through photo images of their custom gapped (shaped) ferrite cores. Intricately gapped cores were photographed with a digital camera on site. The images were later edited to a consistent look, size, and stripped of their backgrounds, so that they can be "digitally placed onto the blueprint background used as a blotter " for the site. The blueprint background image was scanned from a black & white technical drawing, colorized with a blue tint, and intentionally blurred to obscure the proprietary data on the drawing.
